Basic Badge, and 
Essence of Defense. In the same way, you can upgrade Rank 9 armor and ornaments that has been reforged using Trial materials (r9r). The reforged armor molds drop from special bosses in both Warsong City and Lunar Glade. Once your team has killed the normal bosses, a NPC appear (Attendant) and allows you to activate a quest to challenge a new enemy, which is supposed to be a harder version of the normal boss. These bosses are called "Vile" and defeating them grants you 1 Basic Badge per boss.
Specific bosses drop specific piece of gear / material:
Warsong City:
(Metal) Vile: Snakefist Guardian → Shoes
(Fire) Vile: Cannonfist Orclord → Arms
(Water) Vile: Obscure Reaper → Pants
(Wood) Vile: Pestilent Destroyer → Top
(Earth) Vile: Shadowskull Lich → Hat / Helm / Robe / Ornaments
Lunar Glade:
Middle bosses (depends on the path taken after tower boss, Genesiac Blink)
Vile: Mystical Jarax → Top / Arms
Vile: Massaca Seben → Pants / Shoes
Vile: Hauntery Queen → Hat / Helm / Robe / Ornaments
Final bosses (depends on the path taken)
Vile: Relic of Wind → Essence of Defense
Vile: Drake Fling → Essence of Defense
Vile: Primal Fear → Essence of Defense
